Too many people see the malpractice judgments like winning the lottery instead of as an inadequate compensation for lifelong losses. The insurance industry has done an excellent job of winning the hearts and minds of Americans on this issue. But, I've found that often people who know a victim are less likely to believe this fiction. It's amazing what a difference a personal stake in a subject can have.

I don't think that any one of us has not experienced the delay, deny and defend strategy of the insurance companies. The promises they make are so big and the money they make from premiums is outrageous. The added burden and stress involved in dealing with these insurance companies and premiums to get a claim processed is digging deep into our pockets and disturbing. Insurance is no good until there is a no questions asked policy. What you are covered for is what you should get. After all, we don't ask them to reduce our premiums if we never had an accident. Fraudsters are a part of their business. No terms or conditions on the behest of fraudulent activity should be thrust upon any policy holder.

Do you think there is a strong link between beef and our nation's 6th leading cause of death, Alzheimer's? It just jumped up one spot from #7 last year. I was just curious because a few of my friends in India are unaware of this disease. It is almost nonexistent in their country; the country with the least reported cases of Alzheimer's. Interesting enough, the cow is still sacred and forbidden in the Hindu diet. I realize pursuing this path might lead to danger; but, I was just curious...

As usual the State and Federal government is the answer to fix this and all problems...NOT! They are the problem! They play games (just like your insurance company does, only much more blatantly...i.e. we have no record of that conversation, we never got that fax, letter, message, ect) They dont pay what they are supposed to (Medicare, Medicaid) and they require meaningless red tape, no purpose hoops for nursing facilities to jump through (research the unique to Utah 10A process for an example) that clog nursing homes and require money, time, and care to be diverted to ridiculous typical government wastes of all that might be good. The Fed/State wants to partly manage health care and partly not-well thats not working, either grab the steering wheel and drive or let the driver do it...don't bump it spasmodically when you decide to interpret some obscure regulation no one has ever heard of. My questions are: with all the policing the Fed/State is doing whos policing them? where is the check of power? Why will they freely "tag" facilities but will never define a regulation that has been unclearly written (like most regulations)?
